In 2022, SpaceX, Elon Musk's commercial space exploration enterprise, expects to launch 52 missions. If the corporation succeeds, it will have undertaken the most launches in a single year in its history. NASA counts SpaceX as a key collaborator, particularly in its human spaceflight program. It is in charge of transporting humans and freight between Earth and the International Space Station (ISS). Under NASA's Artemis program, the corporation is also constructing a next-generation rocket system called Starship that will put people on the Moon. While SpaceX is primarily focused on assisting NASA's programs , it also launch satellites for other firms, overseas clients, and the US Department of Defense on a regular basis. However, a large portion of this year's 52 launches will be for SpaceX, most likely for the Starlink satellite network, which aims to deliver global broadband Internet. The Starlink project would need the launch of thousands of tiny satellites into Low Earth Orbit, which SpaceX does on a regular basis in groups of 50 to 60 satellites.

NASA's Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel, or ASAP, which gives counsel to the agency on how to preserve safety, revealed SpaceX's aim to conduct 52 launches this year during a virtual conference. According to a storey from The Verge, panel member and former NASA astronaut Sandy Magnus said at the conference that both NASA and SpaceX must be careful not to become victims of their own success in 2022. Magnus went on to say that SpaceX has a total of 52 launches planned for the year. However, spaceflight timelines are subject to a variety of circumstances, including weather, and launch plans are subject to alter at any time. As a result, there's no certainty that this lofty goal will be met. For example, Musk stated that the business planned to launch 48 missions in 2021, but only 31 were completed.
